ADULT CLASS - Ultrasonic Levitator

• LEVEL: BEGINNER (No prior making experience necessary)
• DURATION: 3 x 2hr Evening Sessions (7-9pm) across 3 weeks

This is another popular project taken directly from our afterschool STEM Club programme.  Using the power of sound waves (standing waves if you want to be precise) you can levitate small particles in between the two Ultrasonic Sensors - check out the pics below!

 

This unit is powered by a 12volt power adaptor (provided) and is a cool desktop gadget that will keep visitors entertained for hours.  During the class there will be the opportunity to spray paint the frame, choose from colour options for the acrylic sections, solder together the circuit and code the small Arduino Nano microcontroller that generates the waves.  A great starter project for those interested in learning more about making, electronics and coding.
