This workshop is a single-evening Skill Builder session, run in partnership with Cahoots (www.cahoots.nz). It introduces Women/Gender Minority participants to the practical, confidence-boosting skill of electronics soldering in a supportive and welcoming environment.

You’ll learn about the tools used for soldering, safe setup and technique, and the basics of through-hole soldering. Along the way, we’ll introduce common electronic components and explain what they do. By the end of the session, you’ll have assembled a small electronic project to take home with you.

This workshop is open to women and gender-minority participants and will be taught by Lucy (she/her) and Lila (she/her, trans woman) from our dedicated space at Evans Bay Intermediate. Both instructors bring a friendly, beginner-focused teaching style and are passionate about making technical skills accessible to everyone.

No prior experience is required.
