What Is Stem Club?

Stem Club is a weekly education program for young people interested in the world of STEM and Making.

Our aim with Stem Club is to encourage kids to think outside the box, approach problems from multiple angles and engage in the joy of working alongside like minded people on projects that they can learn from.  We aim to build creative thinkers who will be ready to handle the challenges of our rapidly changing future.

When kids first start at Stem Club the focus is on skills development.  This is achieved through projects and activities exploring the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  Many of the projects are 'Take Home Projects' where the kids get to design, build and keep their work.  Others use the resources at MakeRoom to teach things like robotics and computer programming.

We encourage a 'Club' like feel focussing on collaboration and fun, with things like Engineering Challenges to get the kids working together to solve problems.  As more and more skills are mastered we begin to introduce opportunities for everyone to follow their own path and passions.

When Do The Sessions Happen, How Long Are They?

Stem Club sessions are scheduled both after school weekdays and across the weekend.  The timing of your child's session will be decided upon as part of enrolment.  Each session is 2 hours long.

The full dates for Stem Club across the year can be found on our CALENDAR page.

Where Do The Sessions Happen?

Stem Club is run from our homebase in Miramar as well as schools throughout the region.  Checkout the full list of locations HERE.

Who Can Join Stem Club?

Girls and Boys from 8 years up to (and including) 13 year olds.

For the younger groups (8 or 9 years old) we do require that each child be accompanied by a grown up. This allows us to tackle slightly more complicated projects and helps ensure the safety of every child.

How Many Kids Per Group?

Stem Club classes have up to 6 kids with one Instructor.

Can Kids Bring A Grown Up?

As mentioned above having a grown up present for the younger kids (8 - 9 year olds) is required.  However we are very happy for parents of the older groups to sit in as well.  The focus will be on the kids but we know there are grown ups out there who are keen to support and learn alongside their children.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost per child is $365 per term.  This includes all materials.

How Do I Enrol My Child?

We do currently have spaces available in some of our Stem Club locations.  If you are looking to enrol please fill in the form HERE and we will contact you as soon as we can.  If you are enrolling with some friends each individual child will need to enrol separately  (make sure to mention your friends full names on the form).

Is There Someone I Can Contact If I Have More Questions?
